Bob’s Red Mill was founded in 1978 in Milwaukie, Oregon (USA) and named after its founder, Bob Moore. He devoted his entire conscious life to creating and promoting a culture of healthy eating.
Forty years ago, Bob Moore concluded that the secret to anyone’s health lies in eating enough whole grains, which supply the body with valuable fiber, vitamins and minerals. He began cultivating long-forgotten nutritious crops such as quinoa, chia seeds, sorghum, amaranth, teff, freekeh and Kamut (Khorasan) wheat, some of which have earned superfood status today for the immense benefits they bring to the human body.
Healthy eating is now easier to find in Kazakhstan. Our Almaty store opened in November 2025, and the Astana store followed in April 2026, so the full Bob’s Red Mill range is available in both cities and for delivery.
The company’s distinguishing feature is that it works only with high-quality raw materials, checks product quality at every stage of production, and grinds exclusively with stone millstones. Our ancestors used this milling method more than 1,000 years ago. It is unique in that stone millstones grind grains at low temperatures, without oxidizing them, thus preserving all of the product’s benefits.
The company also offers a line of gluten-free products designed for people with celiac disease (gluten intolerance), athletes and people who watch their health. The company paid special attention to this line, running lab tests for the absence of gluten at every stage of production. America’s top food technologists created special baking mixes that are no worse than, and sometimes even better than, wheat-flour bread and baked goods in taste.
