Blanched Almond Flour
Share:
Description
Blanched almond flour is made from almonds with their skins removed, then finely ground. It gives cookies, cakes and tart crusts a soft, buttery crumb without any wheat flour.
Use it in place of part of the wheat flour in cookies, cakes and muffins, or as a grain-free base for a crust. Store an opened bag in the fridge so the nut oils stay fresh.
Ingredients:
| Blanched almonds, skins removed | 100% |
| Allergens | Tree nuts |

I swapped half the wheat flour in my cookie dough for this one. The cookies came out softer, and the flour smells fresh when you open the bag.
Used it for a tart crust. It presses into the tin easily and bakes to a nice golden colour in about 12 minutes. It needs a bit more butter than regular flour.
